Brisbane Stands With Syria
On Wednesday September 16 several concerned Brisbane activists participated in an action to mark the beginning of Australia’s involvement in the bombing of Syria.
The event was held in King George Square.
The entire Children of the Gulf War photo exhibit was laid out along with children toys to signify those who are affected most by war.
Paper and pens were available for passers by to write messages to display.
In this way the aim of the action was to encourage participation from people walking through the square.
And people did indeed stop, to look at the photos, engage in conversation, and to write signs condemning Australia’s involvement in this Illegal War.
There is a protest against Australia bombing Syria on Sunday September 27 at 13pm in King George Square.
Below is some interviews from Robin Taubenfeld who organised the event and Tracey Tulley who was one of the attendees.
